Diane Covington graduated from UCLA, cum laude, with a BA degree in Cultural Anthropology. She has completed many courses in journalism at Ventura College and American River College in Sacramento.

Covington has done commentaries for National Public Radio and won the Society for Professional Journalists award of Honorable Mention for her series on the 60th anniversary of D-Day, June 2004. Her work appears frequently on the California Report out of KQED in San Francisco.

She worked for the Ojai Valley news before becoming a free-lance journalist. Her work has appeared in The Sun, More Magazine, Sierra Alive, Sierra Heritage, Coast Kids and Celtic Heritage magazines. She has also been featured in The Sacramento Bee, the San Diego Union Tribune, The Ventura County Star, The Union, The Santa Rosa Press Democrat and the Honolulu Star Tribune, among other newspapers.

She teaches Creative Writing, is also a Life Coach, Writing Coach and Professional Editor for a few select clients.

Covington divides her time between her apple farm in Northern California and the beaches of Southern California, when she is not off having a great travel adventure.
